Our research focuses on understanding the function and intracellular regulation of complex biochemical processes and designing these systems in the long term using systems biology approaches. In this context, our work requires the use of biochemical engineering tools that require both computational and experimental techniques.
Our ongoing research projects investigate the contribution of Escherichia coli to CO2 fixation through thermodynamic feasibility analysis, kinetic model development, and transcriptomic data analysis. This reveals the potential of these systems in the production of platform chemicals, enables us to propose strategies for improving microbial production processes, and contributes to the development of alternative technologies to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate the effects of climate change.
