Graphene Oxide Films for Ballistic and Impact-Resistant Applications

Multilayer graphene oxide (GO) films are investigated using molecular dynamics simulations under high-velocity impact conditions. Laser-Induced Projectile Impact Test (LIPIT) scenarios are modeled to evaluate deformation and failure mechanisms at the nanoscale. The targeted outcome is a robust computational framework and foundational understanding to guide the synthesis of next-generation impact-resistant materials, with the potential to surpass the ballistic performance of conventional materials like Kevlar in applications ranging from personal armor to aerospace components.
