Abstract
The project aims to bring a smart implant into the market and it requires innovative steps taken by each partner in areas, such as implementing a new alloy to improve the mechanical and biological properties of orthopedic implants, development of nanostructured surfaces to stimulate bone cell adhesion and inhibit bacterial colonization, design of a sensor system to prevent mechanical overloading. It involves significant technical risks for each partner as indicated by IraSME call. The work packages are designed to boost the link between partners and initiate future collaborations.
