Tolga Seçilmiş

Tolga Secilmis graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1997 and in 2010 he started Integrated Marketing Communication Management Master programme at Yeditepe University.

Tolga Secilmis has been teaching Localization and Subtitle & Dubbing Translations at Yeditepe University, department of Translation Studies since 2006 and Localization and IT for Translators at Boğaziçi University since 2011.

Starting his career in 1995 as founder partner in Ark Engineering, Tolga Secilmis started to give corporate trainings at Ant Education Consultancy company in 1998 after receiving Microsoft training certificate. He started working as a software testing engineer at ES / ATLS company in 1999. He worked as technical group manager, marketing manager and outsourcing manager respectively. In 2000-2002 he received various trainings on localization at Microsoft Dublin campus in Dublin. Tolga Secilmis started working as a founder partner and country manager of ATLS localization and translation company in Cairo in 2005 and started working on mobile software development in 2007. As a result of this work his team developed Turkey's best-selling mobile application in 2007. In 2008, he was transferred to Bircom Telecommunication as an Assistant General Manager responsible for software research and development. He also worked as a consultant for localtones and glocaltones while working in the telecommunication sector. He directed the Phonsai project in collaboration with TUBITAK between 2008 and 2010. The Phonsai project was selected as one of the top 10 Intel application of the year in the US in 2010. In 2011, he worked as a General Manager of Nuna Localization. Tolga Secilmis joined SDL PLC in 2011 and worked as a General Manager of SDL Turkey until 2017.
